Another bad bit of Little Fen Drove - where the available surface is very narrow. There are other places where it is almost as bad.

Possibly the worst bit of Little Fen Drove - where the available surface is probably at its most narrow. There are other places where it is almost as bad.

Vegetation clearance for a boat delivery on the A1303. The workmen grumble that the council are supposed to maintain a 5 metre headroom.

Newmarket Road where the cycleway splits - a breakthrough at the time, but now considered discriminatory and exclusive as it requires quite a bit of confidence to hold a central road position while tailed by heavy traffic.

Wadloes Road, Cambridge

Already indiscriminate parking is occurring on the roads next to the Sighthill Community Campus car park, blocking the crossing points for pedestrians on Sighthill Avenue.

The cycleway alongside Sighthill Avenue is open as far as Fountainwell Gardens. Already indiscriminate parking is occurring on the roads next to the car park, blocking the crossing points.

Pedestrian Route to Ekin Road from Wadloes Road, Cambridge

There's a bit of a scrappy route here from Ekin Road, across the verge, cycleway and Wadloes Road to the link between houses to Ditton Fields.

The path from Port Dundas Basin approaching Pinkston Road. The only dropped kerbs are at the crossing at the pedestrian refuge.

The path from Port Dundas Basin leads around the corner of the basin and heads over to Pinkston Road. There is another step-free route (out of shot to the right) which leads to the Sighthill Bridge.

The path around Port Dundas Basin now connects to Sighthill.

Nice bridge, shame about the steps

Riverside cycleway, apparently

As in Târgu Mureș, motor traffic is prioritised and pedestrians have to wait a ridiculous time to cross.

Bike shop, Reghin

There's a quiet road across the railway from the busy DN15 for about 6km.

Just another small village where people get about by bike.

The interior of a Desiro diesel multiple-unit train from Târgu Mureș to Deda - the seats don't fold but the label shows wheelchairs and prams, but not bikes.

Traditional hiking routes markers plus a T for the Via Transilvanica, which in theory can be hiked or cycled.

Route signs for the new Via Transilvanica - open for cycling as well as hiking.

I'm not sure why the Via Transilvanica markers are on the direct route from Richiș to Biertan (quiet as it is) when there are parallel paths,

This country lane (which happens to be NCN 1) has been designated a "40mph zone", despite being a normal country lane no different from any of the other lanes in the area. Drivers were remarkably deferential when I encountered them.

The mayor leads the Reach Fair Ride 2012.

[MY EXPERIENCE: At 19.50 on 29.3.23 I was a pedestrian on this side of the road at the other end of the 'measures'. A cyclist - with a very bright front light - had entered the pound from this end. As he neared the entry/exit at the other e ... [more]
